INTEGRATED EDUCATION PROGRAMME FOR VISUALLY DIVYANG

The Integrated Education Program of the National Association for the Visually Divyang Individuals  (N.A.B.), U.P. State Branch, Lucknow creates an appropriate learning and teaching environment for totally Visually Divyang Individuals  and low vision students, since 31 years. In this Programme Specially trained internet teachers from  NAB Lucknow. visits to ‘regular’ schools, provide useful guidance to Visually Divyang Individuals students and also to their  school teachers, principals and staff in conducting educational and co-curricular activities for our V.I Children

We Provide Special Devices and equipment for writing in Braille, mathematics and geometry, tape recorders, Braille watches, talking calculators white canes, school bags, etc (free of cost), are made available to every child under this program. The qualified Itinerant Teachers not only assist in their studies but they also teaches them orientation and Mobility. The I.E. teacher visits the home of the wards regularly to motivate their parents.

Facilities are provided under this program are Text books, stationery, teaching and learning material, Braille kit / paper (which help them to record their class notes).

Efforts are made to create a congenial social activities environment for all-round development of children within their families and communities by taking up various activities for the families and communities for parents, class-teachers, headmasters, peer-group, volunteers, etc. NAB Lucknow, also provides support services in the form of Scholarships and Sponsorship.

In addition, special coaching is also provided by resource teachers in science, commerce, geography, geometry. Itinerant Teacher model of Integrated Education setting is being followed for imparting the education to Visually Divyang .

NAB U.P. State Branch Lucknow Provides inclusive education to the children from peer group to class 12th and also to the student urging higher education. Every year after completing class 12th, many V I children take admission in universities

This year two V I children Mazrool and Ashish Yadav passed their class 12th in second division. Rupal Rawat, Shaziya Beg, Brijbhushan Pateal ,Usman  passed her 10th. Rest of the children who gave their school examination came with flying colours.

In this model, an itinerant teacher caters to special needs of minimum eight to ten children of a particular geographical area. These special teachers also play counsellor’s role for parents, school authorities and community at large with a view to change their attitude towards misconceptions related to Visually Divyang Individuals ness.  This Year NAB Lucknow Supporting 80 Visually Divyang Individuals children under this programme in which 65 are total Visually Divyang Individuals  , 11 are partially sighted and 04 are multi disabled. Approximate 25 school are coved under this programme.  Total number of boys is 54 and total girls is 26.

Training programme for Visually Divyang

Many Training Programs are carried out by the NAB- U.P. State Branch,
Lucknow for the welfare of Visually Divyang Children.

NAB U.P. State Branch, Lucknow, is running a computer training program with the help of Amway India Enterprises, affiliated with DOEACC Society. Approx. 30 Visually Divyang children are learning computer. In the syllabus of this computer training program we render ten month Basic Computer Training and Two Month Personality Development Program to the students.

The program has started under the guidance of trained teacher. Presently 30 students are taking training in six batches. Currently we are running six batches in alternate days. With the help and support of Amway India the V.I. children who were getting training under this computer training program has successfully completed CCC i.e. Course of Computer Concept. The children are enjoying learning computer. Once the V I children are trained in computer it will be helpful to them when they will be employed.

For last 3 years NAB Lucknow   has been running  Vocational Training Programme  for the development as well as for the empowerment and self – employment for V.I. children . We prepare children by giving them  training for the preparation of handicraft items. They prepare Key rings and Bandhanwar, Gift Envelops, Wall hangings, Chimes, Diyas, Rakhis Friendship bands, Diya Thali, Laxmi Charans and other accessories of Diwali  Pooja. which are marketed in various stalls organized in Different places.

Common People showed there keen interest in the items  made by the children of NAB and  they  were anxious to know more about NAB Lko.

Our eye clinic programme is running successfully with assistance of  Dr. A.K Srivastava a eye clinic surgeon of Shekher Hospital. Every Sunday for two hours he examines them and gives them proper Treatment. If required operation is also carried out by him without any expenditure. For exam nation we have Slit Lamp, Ratinascop, testing box and other instruments an if  required for examination diagnosis .

Our Programs and Activities

Many Training Programs are carried out by the NAB- U.P. State Branch,
Lucknow for the welfare of Visually Divyang Children.

Interaction program between foreign children and Visually Divyang  children of NAB lucknow was organized by Amity International School, Gomtinagar, Lko on 18th April, 2018 The children shared their views with each other.

The children of NAB Lucknow told the foreign children about how they study and how they cope up with the problems they face in their day to day life. The foreign children were very surprised by what was told  by our children

During summer vacation the children had dance workshop. The senior special teacher Ms. Smriti Singh and the dance teacher Mrs. Ratna Asthana of visually impaired children dance classes.  The children had few problem while learning the dance steps and by regular practice they learned how to dance    like an experienced dancer. More then 15 Children took advantage of this facility

On 18th August, 2018 Radio Mirchi arranged a movie for our visually impaired children, it’s called “Kano dekhi”. The children enjoyed every single scene and movement of the actors in the audio form. The film which was screened was “Sholay”, at  Mahendra Arcade. The film was shown on the occasion of Independence day. 32 children participated.

The Bal Utsav “Antarman” was organised on 25th  August, 2018 till 29th August, 2018. Our visually impaired children participated in this Bal Utsav “Ek Sham Drishtidivyang Baccho ke Naam”. The program was started by the Ganesh Vandana, performed by our visually impaired children, on the inauguration day.

Shri Brijesh Pathak, Hon.Cabinet Minister of Law and Justice , Additional Energy Resources and Political Pention in the Uttar Pradesh Government, was the chief guest of the program. These types of cultural programs are very motivating for the visually impaired children.

 

The Teachers Day was celebrated with the usual guseo as in the past years.

On 02nd Oct, 2018 our visually impaired children celebrated Gandhi Jayanti. The meritorious children were felicitated by the Hon. General Secretary. The children who were felicitated were Brij Bhushan Patel who scored 74. 66% in class 10th, Apoorva scored 81.75% in class 1st, Shivansh scored 86.25% in class 1st Baani Chawla score in class 3rd. The children were given cash amount as gift and gift items. The visually impaired children appreciated their special items.

National Association for the blind
Children of Lucknow UP State Branch celebrated “World White Stick Day” in the auditorium of Kala Mandapam in collaboration with Amway India. The program was started by the children performing a dance performance on Ganesh Vandana, as well as staging No Two Plastics from theatrical performance on environmental protection. The highlight of the event was a fashion show by children in traditional dress in select nations of India. In which many children like Pinky-Marathi, Usha-Bengali, Pragati-Kashmiri, attracted the attention of all the viewers. Vice President Amita Dubey, while distributing the white cane to the children, explained the importance of the stick as well as the rules of road safety.
Children of the institution, parents, teachers as well as children of Dr. Shakuntala Mishra University, children of State blind school were present in the program. In the program Amway India Manager CSR Mr. Raj Narain and distinguished guest BJP MLA Mr. Denzin J Godin, Lucknow Youth Festival organizer Mayank Ranjan was present.

In this Year our Visually Impaired Children was celebrated on disabled Day on 2nd  December 2018 at Cheshire Homes, Telibagh Lucknow. Where many people with disabilities and senior citizen and people, members of Cheshire Home celebrated this day. Children  had sung  song and  preformed a play  and many other activities .At the end of the programme children got sweaters as gift by our patron Ms. Sudheer S. Halwasiya .

From 4th Jan 2019 The Birthday of Louis Braille’s, NAB  Lucknow started the District Level Sensitization programs first we gone to District Barabanki.

On 10th Jan 2019 NAB Lucknow celebrated the 210th birth anniversary of Louis Braille with Amway India.   Mr Chetan Chauhan cabinet minister, sports, youth welfare of UP government was present as the chief guest for the event, we organized Braille reading-writing and debate competitions amongst the visually impaired students. Around 40 students participated in the competition and Ashish Yadav won the first prize in Braille reading-writing and Harshit singh won the first prize in debate competition

With the support of TATA Capital Nab Lucknow Conduct Eye Camp for normal school going children  at Poorv Madhyamik School, Block Chinhat, Zone 2, on 13 Feb2019. In this camp more than 150 children were screened. 12 children were suffering from weak eye side, Whom we gave the spectacles.

The Camp was held on the guidance of Dr. A.K Srivastava and Team.

Vice President Dr. Rama Shankhdhar (Gynecologist) was also done the checkup and counsel to The Teachers and ladies who were present over there.

The Team of Tata Capital appreciated The Eye camp and assures to conduct this kind of Camp in   future also.

Nab Lucknow started 5 days Kitchen Classes for Blind and Low Vision Students (Both Boys and Girls) from 19 Feb 2019 to 23 Feb 2019. More than 25children had participated in this Cookery Classes. Special Skill

Trainer taught to students how to make lots of foods like Tea, Sandwiches, Kheer, Maggie, Chat, etc and they also taught  how to serve the foods in hygienic way. Students also learned to be safe and healthy

The president Mrs. Monika Bansal Secretary Mrs. Rashmi Khendelwal and many other ladies from Inner Wheel Club of Ladies were also present in the program and gave the Induction Cocker, Nonstick Pan set and Presser Cooker to the organization.

Our Executive member Mrs. Bala Anmol Sharma told the Cooking tips to the V.I Students. In the last, ladies of Inner wheel club of ladies distribute the Gifts and best wishes to the beneficiaries.
